Fifth partner meeting on project TRANSDANUBE was held in Tulcea, Romania

Representatives of Regional administration Vidin, project partner in TRANSDANUBE – Sustainable Transport and Tourism along the Danube, participated in the Fifth partner meeting in Tulcea, Republic of Romania on May 14-15, 2014. The meeting was organized by INCTD – Bucharest. The meeting was attended by representatives of all project partners from Austria, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria.

During the work session of the Project Steering Committee was reported the successful verification of all partner budgets for the third period of the project and current financial status. Also were discussed future financial measures for the successful implementation of the project that end September, 2014.

There was a thematic workshop where were discussed the Regional marketing strategies, developed tourist packages and soft mobility offers for the Danube region.

The two-day seminar continued with bilateral consultations for presenting the tourist packages and offers on the tourist market. The seminar continued with a discussion on the opportunities to combine the packages and offers in one product which could be successfully promoted in the field of tourism services. During the final part was presented the updated version of the Interactive map developed in the project as a major product and source of tourist information for the Danube regions.

TRANSDANUBE aims to develop the sustainable mobility along the Danube through the promotion of alternative models of transport – train, bus, bicycle and ship and to spread the concept for sustainable development of tourism in the Danube region. The project is financed by the South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme and includes 14 financing partners from 6 countries and more than 35 strategic partners and observers. TRANSDANUBE contributes to achieving the objectives of the European polices and strategies and particularly the implementation of the European Strategy for the Danube region.
