In 2005 in Vidin Region is the generated gross profit is 360 599 BGL. Its division in sectors shows that although there is a tendency of reduction the quota of agriculture, this sector still generates bigger part of the gross profit in the region – 23%, in comparison to the country, which is 9,4%. In the same year (2005) the industry creates 12,21% of the gross profit in the regional economy while in the country it is 29,37%. The services sector in 2005 realized 64,73% of the gross profit while the country rate is 61,2%.
The acquired material actives value in Vidin Region amounts to 255 826 BGL for 2006. They are concentrated mainly in enterprises with more than 250 employees and in the processing industry. Sector “Trade, repairs and technical servicing of cars and motorcycles“has main role in Vidin region, which in 2006 takes the first position in sales net incomes – 44%. In this sector are functioning 53% of the total companies’ numbers. Sector “Processing industry” comes second as 8,35% of the companies function in it and it forms about 33% of the sales net incomes. An increase of about 3% is observed in this sector in comparison to 2004. Third in place come sector “Transport, warehousing and communication” with 7,24%, followed by the Construction sector with 6,79%.
The total number of enterprises in Vidin Region is 2 872 for 2006. Micro enterprises (up to 10 employees) prevail over the structure of enterprises. They are 93% of all companies in the region (88% for the country), in number they are 2 661. The number of small enterprises with 11 to 50 employees is 175 or 6%. There are only six enterprises with more than 250 employees. During the period 2004-2006, most important changes are observed in the number of micro enterprises, which decreases while the number of small enterprises enlarges. The observed changes do not influence significantly the structure of enterprises according the number of employees.
The sales net incomes in the micro enterprises (up to 10 employees) reach 39% for 2006 while for the country the rate is 22%. More important differences are observed in the rate of enterprises with more than 250 employees, which take 0,2% in the structure of regional enterprises and produce 13% of NDP, while it is 0,3% of the structure for the country and 34% of the NDP. The sector division of SME shows that micro enterprises number is the biggest in sector “Trade, repairs and technical service of cars and motorcycles” – 55, 3%. The greatest number of small, middle, and large enterprises operates in processing industry.

"KNAUF Gipsfazer" PLC
The company is registered in 1997 with 99% Austrian participation. The average annual production of the company is 3 million m² plastic slabs with trade- marks like Vidiwal and Vidifloor which find application in prefabricated houses, partition walls, floor isolations, facings and others. Production of the company is designed for home and international markets. Company’s biggest consumers are in Austria, Germany, Slovenia and Switzerland.
"KULA RING"
The factory for technical rubber products “Kula ring” is a joint- stock company with Holland participation. It is specialized in producing conveyor belts, congestion tools, profiles and pads. High quality products are well placed in national and outer markets. About 75% of production is meant for outer markets.
"VIDA STYLE” PLC
“VIDA STYLE” PLC is one of the biggest dressmaking companies in Region Vidin made in 1962. It is specialized in production of men shirts and women flannels 2 500 000 per year and 600 000 ties. The high quality and its production, good cooperation with foreign partners as “Orbis”, “Drexel, “Hatico”, “BWA”, “GBS” gives the company an access to markets not only in our country but also in - Germany, USA, England, Belgium, Spain, France, Finland and Italy.
"Gips" JSC
“Gips" JSC is the only association in the country for extracting and manufacturing gypsum made at the beginning of 60s as mine- manufacturing company “Koshava”. Technological equipment provides for high quality production which completely satisfies home and foreign markets. During the last years the amount of production is about 160 000 tones gypsum and 85 000 tones gypsum for construction and others.
“L B BULGARICUM”
Joint- stock company with 100% state participation. There are no foreign funds but between government agreements the company works with international organizations. There is a Centre for science, development and production of dairy industry which is a receiver of existed from 1963 Dairy industry insitute.
“MAGURA” PLC
“MAGURA” PLC produces “Cabernet”, “Merlot”, “Gamza”, “Rkatsiteli”, natural frothy wine (white and red) and brandy. Cultivates 2 400 tones grape per year and there are 20 working places.
“VEDERNIK” PLC
“VEDERNIK”PLC-BELOGRADCHIK is a specialized dressing company for women’s clothes. The company is private with 10% part of the state. Almost all the production is exported to Germany (96%).
“FANTY – G”
Private transport company “Fanty-G” made in 1991for transport and spedition mainly destinations like Bulgaria – West Europe-Bulgaria. The trucks have certificate for “green and safety trucks”. Parallel with its general activity the company has modern complex for realization of attendant transport activities: petrol station, parking, car wash, service- station and stores. The company does transport activity along Danube River of loos and pallets, containers and automobiles from Bulgaria to Western Europe and back.
“AIHOV” LTD
“AIHOV” LTD is foreign company with 100% German capital. It produces electrical components and works entirely for export with materials supplied by the customer. The company has 200 working places.
“BDINTEX” LTD
“BDINTEX” LTD is new dressing company specialized in production of men shirts and women flannels. It works for famous European and American companies from Italy, France, Belgium, Germany and USA. The company has modern machines and equipment. 160 people are working there. The production is entirely for outer market. The company has an affirmative name in dressing business.
