Level of unemployment till 31.12.2005 is 20, 71%. People registered as unemployed in three departments “Labour department” on the territory of Region Vidin are 11 695.
Structuring unemployed people according to their education shows that 58.4% from total registered are without qualification and only 25.3 % are qualified.
According to the gender structure of unemployed, registered women are less than men. Till 31.12.2005 total number of unemployed women in Region Vidin is 5 760 which are 49.3 % from total number registered.
Unemployed young people up to 29 years registered till December 2005 are 2 873 which is 24.6 % from total number registered unemployed in Region Vidin.
In order to decrease unemployment in Region Vidin in the three departments of “Labour department” actively apply all measures and programmes according to the law for encouraging employment.
There are three offices of "Labour department" who serve unemployed in Region Vidin – Vidin, Belogradchik and Kula.
